The Power of Authentic Communication in Public Speaking
Have you ever felt like you were on the verge of a major breakthrough, only to fall short? It’s a humbling experience, but sometimes, it’s exactly what we need to grow.
As a chiropractor and public speaker, I recently had a life-changing moment at a Christian chiropractic seminar that reminded me of the importance of speaking from the heart.
The event was filled with faith-driven chiropractors, discussing health, purpose, and personal growth. While listening to one of the speakers share his message on chiropractic care and faith, something unexpected happened.
A Divine Message About Public Speaking
Mid-sentence, the speaker paused, looked directly at me, and said:
"God is going to release a message to you. He’s going to allow you to speak. He’s going to improve your ability, increase your influence, and expand your impact in your sphere."
I had never met this chiropractor before, yet his words spoke directly to my soul. I responded with, "That’s awesome! I’ll take it." But he wasn’t finished.
"Come Monday, God is going to release something in you, and you’re going to be able to speak."
I left the seminar excited and expectant—ready to step into something bigger in my career, faith, and chiropractic practice.
Then Monday Came… And I Bombed My Speech 💥
I had prepared diligently. My speech was structured. I smiled, engaged my audience, and delivered my talk.
But the moment I finished, one thought hit me hard:
"That sure did suck."
It wasn’t just nerves—I felt deep disappointment. Why? Because I had spoken from my mind, not my heart.
The Lesson: Authenticity is Everything in Public Speaking
That moment taught me something invaluable:
➡ Disappointment isn’t failure—it’s a lesson. It forces us to reflect, realign, and grow.
That day, I realized something profound:
✅ I don’t just want to speak—I want to connect.
✅ I don’t want to just talk—I want to inspire.
✅ I don’t want to just present—I want to impact lives.
So, I made a commitment to myself and my audience:
✔ To live genuinely
✔ To speak authentically
✔ To align my words with my heart, faith, and purpose
What About You? Are You Speaking and Living from the Heart?
Take a moment to reflect:
🔹 Are your words aligned with your values, beliefs, and purpose?
🔹 Are you speaking and living intentionally, or just going through the motions?
In business, faith, and personal growth, authenticity is key. Your words should reflect who you truly are. Whether you're in a chiropractic office, a business meeting, or on a stage speaking, your message should come from the heart.
Final Thoughts: Embrace the Power of Speaking with Conviction
We are not guaranteed tomorrow, so why waste today? Speak boldly. Live with conviction.
Have you ever had a moment where you realized you weren’t speaking or living from the heart? How did it change you?
